Waikiki Sailing Company's Hāwea at Turtle Canyon
Waikiki Sailing Company's Turtle Canyon snorkel and sail on Hāwea, from the beach behind the Duke statue: two and a half hours, swimmers only, prices.
Waikiki Sailing Company sails Hāwea, a 50-foot catamaran built by its owner, from the sand of Waikiki Beach behind the Duke Kahanamoku statue. There is no harbor and no check-in booth: you walk down to the water, find the rainbow umbrella and the boat, and climb on. The trip takes two and a half hours: a snorkel with the green turtles and reef fish at Turtle Canyon, then the sails go up for a run along the coast toward Diamond Head. Gear includes a flotation belt, but you must be able to swim. GetYourGuide sells it from $85 a person, Viator from $90 (checked November 2026; checked November 2026).
Viator sells the same sail at 8:30 and 11:45 am:
Finding the boat
Hāwea sits on Waikiki Beach behind the Duke Kahanamoku statue, on the beachfront of the Hyatt Regency at 2424 Kalakaua Avenue. Walk down to the shoreline and head for the rainbow umbrella and the boat itself. Sign the waiver before the trip. Hotel pickup is not included.
On the water
- Board from the sand and head out to Turtle Canyon.
- Snorkel with mask, snorkel, fins and a flotation belt among the green turtles and reef fish. Children under 4 who want to snorkel need their own gear.
- Sail. Back on board, the crew raises the sails for the run along the shore toward Diamond Head.
Non-alcoholic drinks are free. The 8:30 and 11:45 am sails add cold brew coffee from ARVO Café and Anahola granola bars. Local beers, seltzers, wine and cocktails are sold on board. Bring sunglasses, a towel and sunscreen.

Who it suits, and who should pick another boat
It suits swimmers staying in the middle of Waikiki who want a sail as well as the turtles, and anyone who would rather sail than sit through a fast boat ride. It does not suit non-swimmers, and there is no promise if you miss the turtles. If a free return matters to you, Island Splash Tours is also a walk away, from the Hilton Lagoon; if you want lunch on board, Hawaii Nautical’s catamaran leaves from the Hilton pier.
Price
From $85 a person on GetYourGuide (checked November 2026) and from $90 on Viator (checked November 2026). All the operators are side by side in the price comparison.
