Island Splash Tours at Turtle Canyon

Island Splash Tours' Turtle Canyon snorkel from beside the Hilton Lagoon: a walk from Waikiki hotels, three guides in the water, the free return, prices.

Updated November 2026

Island Splash Tours leaves from a dock beside the Hilton Lagoon, in Waikiki itself, so for most hotels there is no harbor to drive to: you walk to the boat. The trip is short, with a few minutes’ ride to Turtle Canyon, and three lifeguard-certified guides go in the water with you, with snorkel gear and flotation for everyone. Soft drinks and water are served back on board. If your snorkel group sees no turtle during the guided swim, you may join another Turtle Canyon trip free. GetYourGuide sells a 90-minute version from $73 in current promotion (usually $81) a person; Viator sells it as two hours from $65 in current promotion (usually $79) (checked November 2026; checked November 2026).

Finding the boat

Search for “Island Splash Tours” in Google Maps or Apple Maps: the pin takes you to the boat, at the dock by a yellow booth near the Hilton Lagoon. A street address will get you to the right area but not to the boat. Be at the loading dock 30 minutes before your time and stand by the Island Splash check-in sign; boarding starts 20 minutes before departure, and the boat leaves on time.

On the water

The boat runs along the Waikiki shore to Turtle Canyon, about three-quarters of a mile off the beach, and anchors. After a snorkel demonstration the guides take the group in. Besides turtles you may see reef fish, eels, octopus, urchins, rays and dolphins, and humpback whales from December to April. When you have had enough, climb back on board for a soft drink in the sun.

Who it suits, and who should pick another boat

It suits people staying in Waikiki who want the turtles without a long morning: no van, no harbor, about 90 minutes. GetYourGuide’s version is not for children under 5, pregnant women, people over 65 or anyone with a pre-existing medical condition. Towels, a water bottle and reef-safe sunscreen are yours to bring. If you want more time on the boat, Waikiki Sailing Company adds a sail and boards on the beach; if you would rather sit out the swim, Charter Oahu has a swim step.
